UC Go-Live dates
Harrogate, Richmond (North Yorkshire), Inverness, Hammersmith and Ryedale go live in the full service today - https://www.gov.uk/government/news/universal-credit-expands-to-all-claimants-in-5-more-areas
Hi everyone
Am getting in a bit of a panic about this, as I see clients from all over the place, not only from my local borough (which has 3 different JCP areas anyway…)
Is there anywhere where I can look up full service roll-out dates (for later on in May and for the rest of the year) by postcode, and not by JCP .....

im getting confused by the terminology here so hopefully someone can clarify.
ive been taking live to mean in place but with gateway conditions and digital to mean in place and no gateway conditions.
the link here says port glasgow will go live instead of other scottish places later this year but as far as im aware that went “live” in 2015. so im assuming its going digital?
have i lost the plot? its ten to six so its possible.

I’m sure that you’re right and Mr Green is talking about the digital (full service) start date although in traditional DWP style it’s far from obvious. Think the “non-delay” of the two child rule in UC from April 2017 to November 2018 is interesting - how are they going to deal with making people claim tax credits in UC areas - will they have to re-introduce the newly abolished ESA and JSA for people who are not in work?
Can’t really understand why the whole thing necessary apart from perhaps a problem with the UC IT which means it goes into meltdown if you try and make it add more than two children but only pay for two?
Anyway, as other people have remarked, good job it’s all turning out so simple!

The original planned date for all new claims to be UC was April 2014. But that’s not a delay either. Probably.
