Almost half a million private rented homes infested with vermin

New research from Shelter also finds that 49 per cent of private renters had problems with poor conditions or disrepair in the last year, 34 per cent lived in a property with damp or mound, 22 per cent suffered with poor insulation and excess cold, and 11 per cent reported electrical hazards.
