Following a great debate in the House of Lords last week, which showed the strength of opposition to the Government’s plans to remove legal aid for welfare benefits, Scope is keen to keep up the pressure on the Government as the Bill carries on through Parliament.

To do this, we need your stories about how legal aid has made a difference and helped getting the right benefits - whether you needed help for your claim, or have helped someone else, tell us your experiences and why legal aid matters to you.

We want to make sure the real experiences of using legal aid for welfare benefits cases are heard by Government. We’ll use these stories to continue to influence Government as well as to encourage more disabled and other people to share their own!

Tell us your experience now, you can email us at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).

All the best,

Cristina

It seems that the Govt has just announced pushing back implementation of scope cuts in the Bill , so contracts for welfare benefits advice carry on for another six months up to April 2013.

Still need to win the argument and persuade the Govt to amend the Bill to keep advice for these cases long-term, so would be great to hear about any case studies you may have!
