Hi all,

I have a severely disabled client who went to change his phone number via a call with UC.

He has been told that a new policy requires him to attend the jobcentre in person with 3 forms of ID in order to amend his personal details.

Think this is pretty clearly discriminatory but would like to know if this is a one off or if other people have seen similar/are aware of a change in policy leading to these sort of shenanigans.

Cheers,

Ryan

This looks like one of those instances where the telephony agent has a ” training need “.
The change of mobile no could always be done in the UC account. Home tab > Change of Circs. > Personal Details > Change Mobile No> Save.
I can’t imagine when managers are promoting ” reduced footfall ” in Jobcentres they would be happy with 100s of new face to face queries.

My initial thoughts were along similar lines.

Through other channels I have had one other example with it being cited as ‘policy’ which is enough for me to take it up but be good to hear if anyone else has heard similar.
