Good Morning,

I hope I started this thread in the correct section!

I am working with the a client who is currently awarded LCWRA. She currently has an SMI loan to cover her mortgage interest and she is wanting to know what her work allowance will be and how this would affect her SMI.

The client has been offered some paid work with a Woman’s charity.

Having looked up, I can see that when the work allowance is mentioned, it talk about Limited Capability work - not LCWRA.

I’m confused!

If I remember rightly technically they are found to have limited capability for work and work related activity so therefore it would be a qualifying condition for the work allowance.

Also again if my memory is working correctly that as they are receiving SMI they qualify for the higher amount as smi does not count as housing costs for this purpose.

I’m sure other will correct me if I am wrong
