Act 8 - navigating safely
I have a client with 100% vision loss. She has worked for many years but recently made redundant. She has claimed ESA and is awaiting a WCA.. Uses a stick only.
Could she pass 8 (b)? Says can cross at traffic lights on own but not elsewhere or on zebra crossing, without another person. So what exactly does “crossing the road” mean? Also there is quite a difference between a road in a city and in a village, for example.
Any thoughts?
Thanks
She can probably only cross at traffic lights if there is someone else there to tell her what the lights are doing or because a lot of them make noises when the pedestrian light is green. So I would say she can only sometimes cross the road and if there aren’t any noisy traffic lights she can’t, which has to be most roads.
