Has anyone successfully claimed UC housing costs for a care leaver in the Staying Put scheme?
Care leavers in a Staying Put agreement can be treated as a private sector case if a commercial agreement exists.
The foster carer is the landlord and the residence is not ” supported accomodation “.
As a care leaver they are exempt from the shared room rate.

Yes UB40, we do. We work closely with our care leaver team here in Northumberland. Plenty examples of it working out.

Usual problems have been uploading of evidence (the licence agreement), or not selecting the right type of accommodation (its just a private agreement),  or local work coaches advising to claim HB (sorted through the partnership manager).
