‘Hi andy, just to inform, I have just received a phone call from the D.W.P. offering me a out of court settlement, I wasn’t to sure what I was being offered but it included back pay and she mentioned something about mobility benefits, I asked if I could have it in writing and have time to think it over they agreed so as soon as I receive it I will contact you’.

I had an appeal bundle with that type of letter in it, following us entering a further appeal after the DWP had lapsed the original appeal. The strange thing was that the letter was dated the same day as they lapsed the original appeal giving the client no opportunity to discuss with myself!
