Hi All

Can I just confirm that savings belonging to a dependent child who is part of the parent’s PC claim is ignored?

Thanks in advance.

Yes.

The provision to introduce child dependent additions as part of a PC claim from 2019 was to replace the child tax credits - as part of the move to UC.

Unlike legacy benefits where the capital of a child may affect the dependent additions, it instead mirrors CTC rules - capital of a child is ignored.

Brilliant, thanks for confirmation.
