Successive temporary accommodations in one AP

We have a client who was evicted from independent supported living. He is not receiving assistance from the homelessness section. So far he has been accommodated in a series of hotels and then a caravan, in most cases for a night or two only. He is now back in the caravan for (we hope) 2 weeks. He has not been placed by the local authority so UC housing costs should be payable.

What I’m unsure about is how they will deal with the fact that he is moving several times within the same AP? His appointee (corporate) is reporting each change via the journal and to date UC seem very confused about the whole situation. No housing costs have yet been paid.

The answer in broad terms, assuming everything is reported when it ought to be, that it will just be a case of looking at the circumstances on the final day of each AP. Provided he has some housing costs at the end of the AP, he will receive a HCE which will presumably be LHA.

Thanks Elliot.
