HI I have a disabled couple with ESA claim in his name - he is in support group, both receive PIP, she Standard DL, He Enhanced DL and Enhanced Mob; getting correct disability premiums. They have two disabled children one with DLA High rate DL and high rate Mob, the other low rate DL DLA. Mum is carer to the disabled children and receives CA and Carer element in the ESA. We are wondering whether Mum can ask to go through WCA and receive support comp also? Cannot seem to find info about Support Group paid at couple rate under ESA. Thanks for any advice.

There is a couple component rate and it is only one component for the claimant and none for the partner, but what about seeing if both can get pip for double sdp?

HI - thanks for this.  Yes they are both getting PIP and receive the couple SDP rate. Thought it was worth a try for a double Support Component - seems to be there for pensioners!

With pensioners there is the couple pensioner premium is reduced by whatever component is paid - so couples with the pensioner premium always end up with the same amount no matter which component or none
