Can someone give me some quick advice please?

My client is due to receive a payment in lieu of past care. This will put them over the £16k threshold and Income Support will stop. However, as the payment is non-taxable it won’t affect Child Tax Credits. Does this mean she will retain entitlement to school meals, prescriptions, dental etc?

Assuming client only on CTC (Not WTC as on IS) then as long as her income is below £16,190 then she will retain entitlement to FSM.
Is it possible capital is disregarded in respect of IS? not clear what you mean by pay in lieu of past care

Thanks MaggieB. She will receive a lump sum payment for caring for her disabled child as part of a settlement.

I cannot see anything specific in CPAG but I would certainly do a bit more exploration (? contact IS) to discuss further before closing IS claim as if it is disregarded she will be unable to reclaim IS and will be forced to claim UC
