Just a quickie - i went on a training course fairly recently and was informed that the date for reducing youngest childs age from 7 to 5 was being introduced in October 2011, whereas everything else i’ve read states that it’s early 2012.
Does anyone know the definitive answer?

Thanks

hi

the change from age 7 to 5 is in clause 57 of welfare reform bill -

http://www.publications.parliament.uk/pa/bills/lbill/2010-2012/0075/lbill_2010-20120075_en_8.htm#pt2-ch3-l1g57

since it changes categories of person entitled to income support in section 124 of social security contributions and benefits act, i suppose it will come into effect when bill gets royal assent.

last i heard, that was due to be in about november this year…

cheers ros
