Public Broadcasting of Tribunal hearing
I thought this might be of interest. A FtTJ has determed that even if all parties agree, a recording of a Tribunal hearing cannot lawfully be publicly broadcast:
Julia Ross & BBC v “L” [2011]

Anyone remember Crown Court?
How about Tribunal - 10:00 - 10:30 weekdays?
Real court cases, with the appellant, judge, doctor, debonair sauve DWP presenting office and hapless rep played by actors.
The decision made by the studio audience. Fronted by Jeremy Kyle.
Anyone got Simon Cowells phone number?
I loved Crown Court. One of the highlights of bunking off school sick was watching Crown Court.
Its Friday afternoon- any suggestions as to which actors should cover the roles in ‘Tribunal- The Series’
How about Hugh Grant or Kate Winslet as the Judge, Brian Blessed as the doctor, Alan Rickman as the DWP officer and Jack Dee as the welf
I’d go for Leo McKern as the Judge myself.
“I’d go for Leo McKern as the Judge myself”. You’d have to dig him up first.
How about, Timothy Mallet, the judge. Tom Baker, the doctor. Hayley Turner (The Fairy Jobmother), t’other one. Davina McCall, presenting officer. Jeremy Clarkson, rep.
DWP PO: occasional role only - they don’t usually turn up
LA PO: Suranne Jones
Clmt: Hayley “you aren’t tryin’ ‘ard enough” Taylor (Fairy Jobmother)
Rep: Joey Boswell (“Bread”) / Nick Freeman (Mr Loophole)
Judge(s):
Ray Winstone
Guy Henry / Olga Fedori (Henrik Hanssen / Frieda Petrenko - Holby City)
Gordon Brittas
Medical member: Lord “I don’t geddit” Sugar (Don’t worry, ATOS will train him)
Financial member: Nick “it has no ‘baring’” Leeson.

If Tom Baker was the doctor would that mean that David Tennant, Matt Smith, Patrick Troughton , Sylvested McCoy etc couldn’t hear a case where Tom Baker had previously been involved. I think we should be told !
(nb I must be really sad, I can remeber the names of all the doctors right back to the beginning but i wouldn’t dream of admitting being such an anorak in public)
Surely it would have to be fronted by Forsyth not Kyle.
Which appellant, however nervous their approach to the tribunal door, would not be encouraged to enter by a booming “Nice to see you, to see you nice”?
On finding that their living together appeal had been dismissed, the appellant would surely be consoled by the host’s “you get nothing for a pair, not in this game”.
And any tribunal about to award a nil points descriptor might pause at hearing Brucie beseeching them to go “higher, higher”.
And for DLA appellants with an unappealed component Brucie would surely ask any audience what they would do (of course they’d be scripted to reply “gamble” every time).
And when moving next door to film a new tribunal, the new panel would be delighted to hear “you’re so much better than the last lot”
I shudder to think what a Brucie Bonus would be.
A Brucie bonus sounds vaguely Australian (I hope this isn’t racist.)

Looks like the reality is closer than the fantasy.
I hope my Brucie/Australian/Sky link hasn’t passed by unnoticed.
I would have me played by Gerard Butler given our close resemblance.
Oooh is that the wrong game?
I will play myself as a rep and my client will be played by Gregor Fischer in the role of Rab C Nesbit, or perhaps Peter Kay in the role of Brian Potter in Phoenix Nights
