PIP APPEAL
Hello everyone,
We have a client who wish to appeal her PIP claim. The deadline is today.Any advice on what we could do.She is getting really anxious.
Hi Raissa
She can submit an appeal online at https://www.gov.uk/appeal-benefit-decision/submit-appeal (I assume she’s done the MR already).
You can always submit further information/evidence at a later date.
Ok,thanks a lot
For future reference the (usually) absolute deadline for appeals (and MRs) is 13 months, not the 1 month usually stated on DWP decision/notice letters. You will need valid grounds, such as the client failing to act in time due to mental health issues. 90% of the MRs and appeals I submit are late.
Even the 13 month deadline can be crossed if there was an official error in the decision you are appealing.
EDIT: I could go into a lot more detail, but there are already plenty of threads on the topic in the forums :)
