Horrendous mixed-age couple scenario, please help
That still wouldn’t get round the wording “the awards are made” which I think refers to the original making of the award (see the wording in 6(2)(a) which supports that interpretation of “made” when it talks about “after the award”).
On your point, the couple become a MAC at the start of the day she turns pension-age. At that precise moment they become entitled to pension-age HB. So I don’t think there is a moment when they’re receiving working-age HB as a MAC.
I’m not sure though, because most HB changes only take effect from the following Monday, so perhaps it could be argued that there are a few days where they’re a MAC receiving working-age HB?
