Good morning
I am having great difficulty finding a copy of the ESA 3 forms being sent to people regarding the issues around underpayment which I believe the government have earmarked of £9 million. To me this must indicate a lot of money.
I can find the standard ESA 3 but not the adapted cobbled together version asking people about their circumstances between eg 2013 and 2016
has anyone got one or knows how to get a blank copy please.
other than approach the DWP/JCP to see if they would send one
thank you in anticipation

Hi Nigel, I don’t have a copy but have a contact with the team that is doing the reassessments in Stoke-on-Trent (they’re next door to us) so have asked if it’s possible for us to have a copy. Will let you know if I get one.

Thank you Tina
much appreciated.
I suspect we will be getting a lot of these forms .
I understand easily the old esa 3 but trying to deal with historical issues is hard.
I will put some training together once I can get my head around it
thanks again
best wishes

I am a benefits trainer and have not got my head around all of this - if you want to discuss more email me - .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
I’ve just had an email - she’s going to let me have a hard copy of an ESA3 next week - so if you want I can scan it and email it to you.

I’ve seen a few of these and they’re reasonably straight-forward except in cases when people have had changes to their circumstances during the period.
For example, I saw a form this morning where the claimant had moved house, had a dependent child at the beginning of the period who then become an adult non-dependent and later in the period left home leaving the claimant home alone and they also had a pension income which changed every year during the period….....
They now have to confirm lots of details to have their award calculated correctly…....
Fun and games.
one of my clients received a claim for ESA (IR) back to 2013..
are they trying to force clients onto income related in order to move then to UC?

Steph, no they aren’t (I don’t think).
Lots of claimants have missed out massively on money due to them because they had entitlement to irESA as well as crESA but were only assessed for crESA. The DWP is currently undertaking an exercise to find out who has missed out by the completion of these ESA3 forms so that they can have any monies due paid to them. For people who should have had irESA for years filling the form out can be worth thousands of pounds.
thanks Mairi
I have previously instigated IR claims and had to fight for backdates but this client is better of on Contribution based.
She won’t lose her contribution based but should fill in the form as she may be entitled to a top-up of income-related ESA

Hi all
I’ve got the ES3 (IBR) form as promised. I’ve had to scan it in 4 sections as it is 45 pages long and the file is over 5MB.

Will nick this for the GMWRAG web site to add to our existing ESA 3 which is available for download.
