How to become an appointee
Gave up after 40 mins on hold to helpline…
Do we just call helpline to start the process of someone becoming an appointee? (UC claim not yet made)
For LB we just call the relevant section and they start the ball rolling if I remember correctly…but I may be wrong
Its been sometime since I’ve looked at this but from memory a BF56 form (available to download) might help you…
I send a BF56 to the UC postal address, not the free post one as the other week, we had a phone call from DLA Blackpool advising that they were receiving the post by mistake. I use UC Post Handling Site B, Wolverhampton WV99 1AJ. I also put notes on the journal to this effect and also ask if they want to send an upload request, then you can also send a copy of the BF56. Thanks guys. Can’t find form online, gov.uk says for all other benefits (not listed) to contact JCP..
ignore previous post, just found it!
The UC helpline told me to send the BF56 to :
DWP UC Full Service (Freepost)
Canterbury Benefits Centre
Mail Handling Site A
Wolverhampton WY98 2EA
But I did not progress the claim I was dealing with at that time to this stage.
I know everyone’s probably spotted this anyway but just in case I’ve corrected the address…
