‘You have to have an online account to claim new-stle CESA’

Claimant follows the instructions on gov.uk for claiming new-style CESA.

She wishes to claim CESA only.

Gets through to UC, who tell her she needs to claim UC and create an online account otherwise they can’t do anything.

Gets through to ESA who tell her she needs to claim UC and create an online account otherwise they can’t do anything.

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg…...............................

Back in last October I was led to understand that all new style cESA applications were being dealt with in Belfast Service Centre- the worker I spoke to there was happy for us to email a completed ESA1 to them. Not sure if that has now changed but they were great.

well all we need is a TSB style computer melt down at the dwp and that could put UC back another year, just saying

perhaps it would help if they just changed the name, parish relief credit or something like that
