Has anyone else noticed that the TS are sending out a new letter asking clients whether they wish to continue with their appeals post TAS1?

A more cynical mind would question why this is happening now when they have so many cases and are due to have a veritable torrent through when IB - ESA migration really picks up this theoretical cynical person might be inclined to think that adding another layer of bureacracy onto the existing procedure is a transparent attempt to lighten their load with little/no regard to the service users acces to justice.

This theoretical cynical person would also be inclined to think that their time might be better spent not on adding bureacracy but with trying to find a way to process the appeals in a more expeditious manner.

Can they actually do that? I mean legally.

We only get these when the TAS1 has not been returned or they have been a bit late going back - they seem to send them out promptly as soon as the 14 days are up. If the TAS1 has gone back we ignore them as they’ve usually overlapped.

If they’re not the chaser letters then we haven’t seen any…..yet.

I feel sorry for TAS staff, but it doesn’t stop me from getting wound up by the increasingly dire service. TAS used to be one of the most efficient agencies we dealt with but these days they’re one of the worst. It’s very sad.

Talking of sad, it’s pretty desperate when we’re posting in response to each other’s posts even though we sit less than 4 feel apart!!

Going back to the original post, I don’t think we’ve seen any of the letters you refer to- only the usual enquiry form ‘chase up’ letters. Will keep an eye out though.
