London Voluntary Service Council (LVSC) has launched a third ‘Big Squeeze’ survey to study the impact of the recession and public spending cuts on the capital’s voluntary and community sector (VCS) organisations and the Londoners they serve.

LVSC and its partners are seeking responses from across London’s VCS to ensure it gathers the fullest picture on the cuts to these organisations and their services. The survey is an opportunity for organisations to voice the issues affecting them as a result of spending cuts and the recession. The information can help influence strategic policy and decision-makers to understand the impact of recent cuts and the recession and how this affects Londoners reliant on voluntary services.

“It is vital we get as many organisations as possible to complete the survey” says Peter Lewis, Chief Executive of LVSC, “Many are facing the heavy axe of public spending cuts across different funding streams, and only they are in a position to explain how it has affected them and their beneficiaries.”

Just a reminder to any London agencies about this survey to monitor the impact of budget cuts to organisations this year.

The deadline for responses to this survey has been extended to 31 May 2011, so if you’re part of a London VCS agency who hasn’t filled this in yet, please do help us understand the state of London’s voluntary sector funding currently.

Thanks very much.
