Hi,

This is my first post ever so apologies if in the wrong place.

My Client lives in a mortgaged property which needs essential repairs. Client is IRO IR benefit and mortgage interest payments.

Repairs will be in the region of £5,000.

Client’s local authority does not offer home repair grants/loans.

Can anyone signpost me to any organisations/service who could be of some assistance?

Thanks

There should be a Home Improvement Agency, though s/he may not fit the criteria?
Search at http://www.foundations.uk.com/

If s/he chooses to take on a loan or overdraft for this, see CPAG p435-6 for when that might be eligible for DWP support.

Have you checked our Home improvements and repairs factsheet which sets out the variety of ways that people can look to get help with this kind of thing?
