Don’t be misled by the fact that the law allows you to lodge these in writing, and think that means that the Dept will therefore receive them, read them and ... you know ... reconsider.

Oh no.  They will just be scanned in and sit there indefinitely in the document imaging system.  You have to ring the helpline, as only the helpline can create a ‘task’ and not the post opening scanning person.

Is it only Thursday?

Hi Sarah - agree, we need to be vigilant with UC and MR’s

Helped a client with a written MR in April, rang them on 7/6 to check receipt/ progress -they had received this but had not referred to a UC DM as “we did not consider your client had grounds to make a referral” - complained about this and was then put through to a Supervisor who admitted that the application should have been sent immediately to the DM to deal with upon receipt and it was “an isolated error”  made by a new member of the team -assured that MR referral would be made that day to the DM and dealt with asap - however methinks that UC could become the new TCO and do what they feel like doing
