Is there a requirement for UC claimants to be notified of a WFI, in advance and in writing?

Would a text message 3 working days in advance suffice as notification?

s24(4) WRA 2012 implies that a claimant must be notified of a work related requirement but leaves it the the DWP to decide how that notice is to be provided. There are no prescriptions as to what form that notice needs to take. On the face of it a text message 3 days beforehand would be enough - as would a phonecall 30 minutes beforehand.

Of course, a claimant may be able to raise good reason arguments if the manner of notification made it impractical or impossible to attend.

Much appreciated. Thanks Elliot.
