Apparently in yesterday’s Public Accounts Committee’s evidence session on fraud and error, when asked when the DWP’s and HMRC’s accounts will not need to be qualified ...

- Robert Devereux, DWP Permanent Secretary, said that he doubted if they ever will;  and
- Lin Homer, HMRC Chief Executive and Permanent Secretary, said ‘when tax credits cease to exist’.

Recommended read!!!! Some very loaded language in there - and if I read it aright, Morse and Devereux do not like one another at all! Buried in there also is the remark - ‘Of course, universal credit is still six years off.’  Aha.
