Rent a room scheem
Does anyone know if the scheme will allow Universal Credit claimants the new £7,500 figure or is it too early to know?
It’s a tax allowance not a disregard AFAIK.
Rent income from lodgers is fully disregarded already in UC, so won’t affect it as far as I can tell
But under UC although disregarded in terms of income, the room is deemed to be under occupied so 14% deducted from eligible rent
