Late appeals; something to watch out for.

Just a note to say that where DWP aren’t accepting a late appeal and pass it up to HMCTS they don’t note that a rep is involved; they certainly haven’t for one of mine!

More teething problems with Bradford appeals centre I suspect.

I had an old-rules appeal go to HMCTS recently(ish) and HMCTS wrote to me to ask for my comments. I had submitted the appeal myself, though, so it was pretty obvious.

It’s a bit concerning that this is happening at all, especially with this sort of thing.

I asked about the procedure here. That was a case where I complained that DWP had failed to fill in the rep’s details on the appropriate form (AT37) with the appeal bundle. In reply, DWP said that because the client had included an appointment reminder from ourselves (randomly inserted in the paperwork), then the Tribunal Service should have inferred I was the client’s rep, put my details on their system, and sent me a copy of the paperwork.

I would put that down as a DWP error, not the tribunbal service’s.
