response to FOI request on PIP processing times, number of claimants and appeals
‘There are public interest arguments in favour of disclosure of this information at the present time ...
... There are public interest arguments against disclosure of this information at the present time ...’
but apparently
‘... the balance of the public interest test falls in favour of withholding this information’
“It is also in the public interest to ensure that the information is available to all members of the public at the same time, and premature publication could undermine the principle of making the information available to all at the same time through the official publication process.”
An early contender for the biggest load of gobbledygook bureaucratic absolute arrant nonsense award 2014.
We can’t release the information to the public because if we did release the information to the public, that might undermine our plans to hold onto this information until we decide to release this information to the public.
The fact that they want to hide this information says far more about the on-going shambolic administration of PIP claims than any bald statistical analysis could manage.
And the same could be said for the delay in publishing stats on MR across the benefits!
