An interesting snippet picked up from Inside Housing:

” In a radio interview yesterday, the Mr Duncan Smith said a third of tenants are receipt of disability living allowance (DLA)

...  About a third are in receipt of something like DLA, which of itself is a payment to support housing costs.”

Is it?

Will he ever be pulled up for this kind of misinformation? (IDS, not Gareth)

Made a quick check on gov.uk, just to be sure they have not sneaked something in about DLA now being a payment to support housing costs - you never know these days. And ofc there is nothing there about such a silly notion. Half the problem is the people interviewing him don’t realise he talking bullocks.

For goodness sake - DLA is now being peddled as a benefit for children as it’s too out of date for working-age disabilities to be assessed. What housing costs do kids have?

Morning rant over

You have forsaken the right to first comment Gareth by virtue of the many travels you describe on your Facebook page :) I am willing to wager your absence has rendered you days out of date on the many changes currently taking place and you’ve lost your right to reside :)

I have been selflessly testing out the viability of digital by default in a variety of different access points.  I also have a lobster pot T shirt to wear at NAWRA.
