Why do the DWP phones invite you to call back when it’s less busy, between 8am and 9am, even when you’re phoning between 8am and 9am, and it doesn’t seem any less busy?

Topic posted while hanging on, listening to Vivaldi, and seriously considering hanging up.

Yes, it’s not the most splendid way to start the day is it?

I find it takes even longer to get through between 8-9 but I tend to ring them then because it’s the only time I can get anything done without a hoard of clients beating down our doors. I think there are less people ringing but only about 4 members of staff covering the phones so it takes heaps longer to get through to anyone.

Ive noticed that it seems to be taking a hell of a lot longer to get through these past 4 weeks. I thought it was just me…...
