Hello,

We have an adult placement scheme which we do pay hb for but have now had an application from a mother and baby under the scheme. The problem is that the child is funded by a neighbouring authority under a foster placement. The mother had been funded by the neighbouring authority until recently. The adult placement service have advised it’s a mother and baby placement. so my dilemma is - do we treat it as an adult placement and award hb or do we treat it as a monther and baby foster placement and not pay hb?

thanks

Apart from establishing whether the mother has a legal liability to pay rent (which you obviously know) you need to have a look at the terms of any existing care orders.
