Can a person in receipt of ESA Support Group be required to attend a Work Focused Interview

A person on ESA SG has been required to attend a WFI at two days notice: tomorrow!! She phoned and queried this and they said it was mandatory.
Is this right. Any answers quick please.

No they can’t, I suspect the jobcente has made a mistake and think that the client is in the WRAG group.

Thank you - have now found the reference in CPAG book - but Jobcentre person was told that she /claimant is in support group and still said the interview was mandatory - is there a risk of her ESA being sanctioned if she continues to argue the case and does not attend - what is best approach given the very short timing?

Quote the regulations to the adviser at the jobcentre.  If that doesn’t work ask to speak to her manager.
