A DLA supersession being treated as PIP…....

We have a situation where a client referral for DLA supersession was taken by us (we are a Joint Team with DWP) on 25th Oct but due to workload the actual forms were not completed until after 28th Oct.

A covering letter was sent in with the form to explain when referral received but we now find the claim is being treated as PIP…..

Usually an explanatory letter sorts it as the date for back-dating etc is usually taken as our date of referral but several phone calls later we are not really getting any where.

DLA teams refer us to the PIP helpline, PIP teams refer us back to DLA. Where is the form? Er, can’t get an answer on that one…..

When trying to explain the query to PIP helpline staff we were asked ‘what’s a DLA supersession…...’

One couldn’t make it up…....

Any and all thoughts welcome

How old is your claimant? So long as they have not turned 16 since 7/10/13 my reading of the latest timetable is that they should be reassessed for DLA not PIP irrespective of date unless they live in one of the following postcodes: - B, CF, CH 1, CH4, CH5, CH6, CH7, CH8, CV, DE, DY, GL16, HR, IP, LD, LE, LL, LN, NG, NN, NP, NR, PE, SA, ST, SY, TF, WR, WS and WV (none of these are Herefordshire are they?)

Or am I missing something?

Update…....the DLA supersession claim will now be looked at….....with the PIP claim to follow as that is already in the process of being ‘applied for’......

Logical?? I wonder….........
