Hansard:
Mike Penning: Although personal independence payment is a new benefit, and the Department does not have a target for completion of claims whilst processes are bedding in, we do deal urgently with special rules claims for terminally ill claimants.

Size 10 shoes are the least this clown needs

You would have thought that he would have needed bigger feet to carry the crock of **** that is PIP.

Over 6 months waiting for assessments, clients being told to contact the other Jokers in the ring ATOS direct.

Apparently the system runs without the need to put B/fs (brought forwards) on any file….(must have flaming good memories then)

Bootle (for our area) saying that they are not able to speak to ATOS or to chase them up!!!
“But we are aware that they have a backlog with their scrutiny” Backlog!!

If we cannot get them to get the SR cases right what chance have we got to get them to do the rest correctly?

This is what is really annoying me… The operators on the PIP line I have dealt with keep using the phrase ‘it’s not the DWP’s responsibility’ to chase the claims and to contact ATOS directly. Of course, ATOS unable to offer any information whatsoever… Complaints to both going unanswered…

Yep, exactly what we’re getting here and unfortunately from Bootle. The DWP have contracted for a service and chosen the bonzo do dog band ATOS to provide it. They cannot possibly be meeting any kind of targets /service level agreements or whatever name they use.

It is not the role of clients or their reps to ‘chase ATOS up’ they are not fit for purpose. Anyone hired to work for you needs to be held to account and the contract removed from them.

Here’s a thought! Let’s allow new claims for DLA in the areas where PIP has failed (ATOS areas) or overwhelm the DWP with maladministration claims!

If you have a sub contrctor in your home the main contractor remains fully responsible , and this is the same for the DWP, if you have a supportive MP get them involved in a complaint, it is amazing how quick the DWP can make ATOS shift all of a sudden, believe me it does work.

Have a look at answer given by the Minister to Q103. Then check out the updated link below. Updated after the hearing I believe.
Now, are the committee under the impression that the incompetent assessment providers are out of the SR loop or not?
To be fair Feeney tried to bring Gunnyeon in to clarify the point but there is an obligation on them not to give misleading information.

As for Feeny’s evidence given in Q102 & especially Q105 : Jason Feeney: One of the things we would lose if we went back to that is people would get paid from a later date, so they would lose benefit in essence.  You will get benefit from an earlier date under PIP than you would under DLA.

Unbelievable! Does the committee not have access to WELFs?

Claimant is subject to extended delay by Atos for PIP examination.

Complains to MP.

After what must have been a tireless, ruthlessly forensic examination of the situation, MP returns with “Everybody’s got to wait”.

Wow.
