pneumoconiosis (workers act) payment & housing benefit

Client has asbestosis and has just received a pneumoconiosis payment of £26k - is this counted in full for HB or disregarded?

Ive been wading thru various Regs all day and am now gozzy! - can someone point me in the right direction please.

If you have the CPAG handbook p356 has a section on personal injury compensation, which includes compensation as a result of disease.  There are references to regs there.

Essentially disregarded for 12 months - can during that time consider putting some or all of money in trust
