New Appeals Procedures
Under the new appeals procedures from the end of October, there is a mandatory reconsideration stage before an appeal can be lodged. Does this mean a decision to disallow benefit will leave a person without benefit until the reconsideration is complete?
Afraid so (barring a different benefit claim eg JSA pending an ESA recon, etc). However, see this thread about when the new system is actually to take effect beyond PIP:
