DWP’s own evidence to support PIP claim

One of my clients has recently been turned down regards a new DLA application because the DWP Decision Maker has stated that the applicant could look after themselves ie dress, wash, cook and walk etc by using suitable aids and adaptions, this being a usual DWP argument in refusing DLA. Therefore can we use this evidence regards the usage of aids and adaptions in support of the client’s PIP application where such use of aids and adaptions are required to gain the necessary points. Secondly would it be ok to appeal the DLA application at the same time putting in a new PIP application!

There is no reason why you cannot use evidence obtained in relation to a claim for a different benefit.    We often use the medical report of an IIDB claim in ESA appeals - usually results in a speedy revision.
