Interaction between benefit cap and bedroom tax
Probabaly a daft question but I want to make sure I have understood things correctly.
Am I right in thinking that because the bedroom tax reduces rent liability used to calculate HB, rather than HB itself, it is only the award made after the bedroom tax has been applied that will be incuded in total benefits for the cap?
The bedroom tax reduces your HB. Therefore you’ll have less benefit that’s subject to the cap.
