Gap between DLA & PIP at introduction stage?

I’ve looked through the PIP literature, but can’t seem to find the answer to this. Just had clt in who has received a letter notifying that all premiums (SDP, EDP) linked to the ESA(IR) claim will cease in July. Assumed it was a DLA issue and letter was produced by clt showing DLA award ending in early July.

In this area ‘new’ claims for PIP cannot be made until June. Following this timeline would almost certainly create a gap between PIP payments and linked ESA premiums (unless the claims are going to be turned round in under a month, which somehow I doubt). I would have thought DWP could at least issue forms from the intro date of 8/4 for the group of people affected?

Anyone know any more?

As the award ends before 7 October she should be sent DLA renewal forms.
