We are in the pathfinder for Universal Credit - with regard to the news story in which IDS stated that the first Universal Credit claimants would be couples, the DWP have informed us that the first claimants will be single jobseekers only and a note of correction has been sent to Hansard.

No surprise there - the TP regs are clear

Reg 5(b) “The person must be ... a single person”.

... perhaps IDS should leave the difficult stuff to his “details man”.

Re UC in Tameside do you know if your Revs&Benefits; have any plans to change their proposed treatment of UC within their CTR scheme?  Their published version is rather like the early version of the Default Scheme (England) , it looks like most authorities will be adopting the (simplified) final DS approach.
