DfT announced yesterday that 8 points will be required from the moving around part the PIP mobility component for automatic qualification for a Blue Badge:

Have also come across an HMRC doc which explains that the enhanced mobility component will still qualify recipents to full VED exemption and the standard rate will qualify people for a 50% discount.

This means that people who currently qualify for DLA high mob under the SMI rules and so get a blue badge will lose the blue badge once PIP replaces their DLA because they will qualify for the PIP mobility under the ‘planning and following a journey’ criteria, not the ‘moving around’ criteria.
