The Citizens Advice Bureau and TrustMark, the Government endorsed quality mark that helps people find reputable local tradesmen, have joined forces to signpost consumers to tradesmen when they looking to repair, maintain or improve their home.

Consumers from across the UK will now be able to search and select a TrustMark registered and inspected tradesman from the Citizens Advice websites for England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, knowing that all the firm’s competences and fair trading practices have been independently inspected and checked. TrustMark firms can offer an insurance backed warranty to homeowners, which will cover deposits, pre-payments and work in progress should anything go wrong with the work or the firm.

We’ve been using Hampshire County Council’s “Buy with Confidence” scheme (run by their Tradings Standards department) for years.
