Just wondering if anyone had heard where UC payments can be made. We have been led to believe that they will only be paid into Bank & Building Society accounts but not Post Office accounts - is there any truth in this..? I mean benefit payments at this time can be made into Post Office accounts, so why would UC be any different.

Kind regards

Dianne

March 2012 edition of DWP’s touchbase magazine had article about ‘simple payment’ scheme for people who are unable to use bank accounts or PO card account to receive benefits - says that claimants using the new service will be issued with a Simple Payment card that allows them to receive their cash at PayPoint-enabled outlets.

Here’s a link to rightsnet news story about it -
