DLA renewal for over 65s
I have just completed a renewal application for a lady aged 70 who is currently receiving HC+HM mainly due to a DS1500. Her health has improved a lot and her mobility is much better, certainly no likelihood of an award for mobility component.
On reviewing her application she is likely to qualify for the low rate on the cooking test but certainly nothing beyond that.
Am I right in believing that she can still be awarded the lowest rate as there will be no break in her DLA claim, just a change in the actual award.
** Found the answer which confirmed my thinking was incorrect

Is her award up for renewal or are you reporting a change of circumstances? Is she still classed as terminally ill? If she is still classed under the special rules as a result then High care should at least apply.
Thanks Nicky, that’s exactly where I found it
