The summary is very useful but I’m not sure about the examples.  I’d like to see the basis of the calculations as, for the few that seem to give enough information, I don’t agree with their results.

They also say “Scenarios include the effect of one year’s uprating plus all other changes announced in the budget regardless of which year they are due to be implemented in…. The changes in National Insurance have not been included.” which make the figures pretty meaningless anyway.

I’ve now finished the first draft of our modelling of the change effects, so if anybody would like a copy then email me.

By the way, I now understand the way in which they’ve built in assumptions for uprating and changes in value of fixed benefits and that explains the diffferences in our figures.  They’re looking much more at impact assessment and we’re looking at calculated entitlement changes on current rates.
