Hi

We now have final details of the next NAWRA meeting in Sheffield on Friday 10th June 2011.  The meeting will be held at Quaker Meeting House, 10 St James Street, Sheffield S1 2EW, starting at 10.00am (refreshments available from 9.30 am).

Our keynote speaker will be Angela Smith, MP for Penistone & Stocksbridge.  Angela will talk on the subject of ‘The Government’s Role in Funding Advice Centres’.  We also plan to hold a morning plenary session on how the DWP can liaise effectively with advice agencies and client representatives.

The workshops sessions in Sheffield will cover:

1.  Welfare Benefits and Judicial Review  -  Desmond Rutledge, Garden Court Chambers
2.  Right to Reside update - Martin Williams, CPAG
3.  Work Programme explained - Mark Stamper and Chris Byron, Legal Division of A4e
4.  Disability Living Allowance Reform – Mary Hipkin, Department for Work and Pensions.

We are also pleased to annouce that, thanks to Howells Direct, a buffet lunch will be provided free of charge.

For those arriving on the Thursday evening, there will be a social evening at All Bar One, 13-15 Leopold Street, Sheffield, S1 2GY.  NAWRA committee members and local advisers will be there from 7pm so come and join us!  Food is available (but not for free!).

Further details regarding speakers, workshops and local information will be posted to the NAWRA website (http://www.nawra.org.uk) next week.  If you are not a NAWRA member, you are welcome to come along and join on the day.  Membership details are also on our website.

I look forward to seeing you in Sheffield!
