Sorry if this obvious query - ESA premiums namely EDP - entitlement to?

Can anyone advise?

ESA premiums, namely EDP - our understanding is that if a client is in the Support Group and is in receipt of ESA income-related then they have entitlement to EDP.

However if a client is entitled to contributory ESA only but still in Support Group does this mean they do not have entitlement then to the EDP award?

Sorry if this is an obvious query but it is causing us confusion here!

You made me doubt myself too!

If a client in receipt of ESA(cb) would qualify for the EDP but for the fact they are getting a contribution based claim (ie. their income is below the applicable amount) then I think they could get it, but DWP would want them to complete the ESA income related claim form to confirm income. They would then receive ESA(cb) with a top-up of ESA(ir) and thus entitlement to other ‘passported’ benefits.

Unless someone else would like to correct me…
