Hi I have a question around Children Element of Universal Credit.
Children moved from overseas to live with mother- she advised Universal Credit who said childcare element can not be paid until she receives Child Benefit for them ( not even sure if this is correct).
Process of applying and been awarded Child Benefit took some time, but is now complete, Universal Credit are now paying child element but have not backdated to when Child Benefit payment started from?

Any thoughts?

There is no requirement for Child Benefit to be in payment in order for the Child Element to be paid, however it normally ends up being the order in which things are dealt with. Your client appears to have provided the necessary information to sort the Child Element out and the DWP have failed to deal with that appropriately. The supersession ought to be effective from when she reported the change.

I suspect that this is, similar to your thread about carers element, another instance where you need to ask the Case Manager to refer the question of backdating to a Decision Maker in order to get the issue resolved.
