From the DWP -

We have been asked by the Research Team in Retirement Services to ask for your support in relation to their current work around State Pension, Pension Credit and its associated benefits. See below for the details supplied by the Senior Researcher.

Research Brief: To gain insights and experiences from third party representatives working with individuals who are claiming State Pension and Pension Credit (and their associated benefits). Our aim is to get a broad understanding of our user’s experience as they move through from planning to claiming for State Pension and Pension Credit; in particular, we are hoping to build up a greater understanding of how they may interact with our services at different points in their retirement journey.

We’re hoping to better identify user needs, pain points and create artefacts that will make visible the collective experiences of those who have participated in our research – all feeding back to our colleagues to help us understand what can be implemented to ensure our services are created based on research insights. It’s consequently quite a broad piece of research we are conducting at the moment, rather than focussed on one specific area.

Format of Research: One-to-One interviews over Teams with an additional observer/ note-taker.

Prospective Dates: Wednesday 10th – Friday 12th January. Individual Interview sessions to run each day for one hour @ 13:00, 14:00, 15:00.

Monday 15th – Thursday 18th January. Individual Interview sessions to run each day for one hour @ 13:00, 14:00, 15:00.

Please let me know if you might be interested and I can pass your details on

Thanks Daphne, sending them a link to this thread might be a good start.

My colleague will be feeding back separately.

They’re going flat out on research at present. I’m struggling to keep up with what I’ve responded to. Let’s hope some of the stuff fed back to them hits home.
