Don’t Get a Hernia: “One minute, everything’s fine; you have a job, a girlfriend, a social life, and plans. Everyone knows you’re a good bloke, you work hard and you enjoy the craic ... Then came the hernia ...”

Shawn, this should surely come with a health and safety warning!
You want to weep with the frustrations of it all :(

Full marks to Ames: it’s so well-written and something that everyone should read.

We’re a tiny second tier agency and every now and again each of us will stop and think - what would have happened to this person we (indirectly) and their care manager or support worker (directly) supported if we weren’t there. And then we think of all the people out there who don’t have any support or don’t know it exists or how to find it. And then we take a deep breath and carry on.
